This program includes 1 1/2 days of instruction and 1/2 days of written assessment. This course provides detailed information to prepare you for the NCCER’s Written Assessment & *Practical Examination.
This program is designed to provide a comprehensive understanding of rigging and crane operations. It consists of 1 1/2 days of instruction and a 1/2 day written assessment. It equips you with the necessary knowledge and skills to prepare for the NCCER’s Written Assessment and practical Examination.
Upon completion of this course, the Basic Rigger will gain practical skills to safely use and understand the limitations of chain, synthetic, metal mesh, and wire rope slings, as well as specific rigging hardware such as hooks, shackles, wire rope clips, clamps, eyebolts, softeners, and taglines. The Basic Rigger will be able to identify common load configurations and positioning, and demonstrate specific knowledge of crane operations, including voice and radio communications (as
defined in ASME B30.2, ASME B30.3, ASME B30.5, ASME B30.6), personal fall protection methods, emergency procedures, and hazards and restrictions associated with working in proximity to overhead electric lines and equipment.

The Basic Rigger identifies standard load configurations and positioning. It demonstrates specific knowledge of crane operations, including voice and radio communications (as defined in ASME B30.2, ASME B30.3, ASME B30.5, ASME B30.6), personal fall protection methods, emergency procedures, and hazards and restrictions with working in proximity to overhead electric lines and equipment. Practical examinations will be administered the day after the last day of class.
